From the recording Miles Away
This track is off of the 2000 Concord Picante Pete Escovedo release entitled "E Music". I first met Pete in 1988 while I was on a west coast tour with legendary Mongo Santamaria. It was a great honor meeting Pete. I was a huge fan of his work with his orchestra and as a member of the cutting edge band "Azteca". Pete and I became good friends after our meeting on that tour. I was honored to be asked to appear as a guest on this CD.
This is an original by yours truly. It's a tribute to one of my favorite musicians ever; Miles Dewey Davis. Miles' passing in 1991 left a void in the music business that could never be filled again.
