It was an honor to work with the young trumpet star from New Orleans Nicholas Payton from June of 2000 until the summer of 2002. We traveled extensively throughout the world with his Armstrong Centenial Project.....it was exciting to watch him tear it up every night. Paul Stephans was the lead player on the band, however Nick asked me to play lead on the Cuban classic. A fun time was had by all on the session.
